On the Move is a traveling artist residency which is curated to be part of a project “Portraits of a Nation”. Portraits of a Nation is a journey of three artists from diverse art practices, from Kanyakumari to Kargil.
This journey is to unite, restore, and reinvigorate the country in a time of increasing polarities, through sharing, caring and creating art together with children, women, men, the elderly in rural and urban communities.
We invite all artists to be part of this exciting journey as resident artists to live and travel with us in our journey. The aim of this residency is to provide a collaborative and creative environment where artists can have critical conversations, exchange ideas, knowledge with hosting local communities and produce collaborative new works.
As a resident artist, you can choose number of days that you would like to travel or the location that you would like to join us. You also can design workshops, hosts talks, and presentations. The project culminates in multi-location exhibitions featuring the artwork created during the program.
